Alexis Park (Harmon Corridor)
POSSIBLE DEAD PROJECT

The Alexis Park Hotel is an older, middle-class, two-story hotel on Harmon Rd.  Harmon is becoming the new, hip, hot spot, so the folks at Alexis Park have announced a $400-million redevelopment of the property  which will feature a 28-story hotel tower with 1,000 rooms, 60,000 square-feet of casino space, dining, shopping, entertainment, spa, and meeting facilities.

In addition, the existing 500 rooms (in two-story buildings) will be renovated. 350 will be turned into exclusive villas for the property and the remaining 150 will be sold as timeshares.  Alexis Park purchased an apartment complex to the west of their property for the new hotel tower and casino. They also purchased a defunct mobile-home park behind their property to accommodate the parking garage.

Crown Plaza (Near strip)

Ellis Island (Near Strip)

While no official news has been released, the rendering (left) suggests that the Ellis Island property (located on Koval behind Bally's), is proposing a major Expansion with the addition of a substantial hotel tower.

That stretch of Koval (between Harmon Ave. and Flamingo Road) has a lot of potential with Harrah's planning a major sports arena and owning the entire west side of the street. We'll have to wait and see.

Harrods Vegas (Strip)

RUMOR 11/26/06   The rumor that Harrods is planning a Vegas property, will not die. There have been two other London-themed resorts planed for Vegas and they are now on the Dreams page. Both of them included a Harrods department-mega-store.  Harrod's is the most famous department store in London.

The current rumor is that a larger-than-life (super replica) of the London store will be built on the Las Vegas Strip with a Ritz Carlton hotel, casino, spa and many other retail and restaurant offerings. This would be the first replica in Vegas that is larger than the original.

Harrods is said to be in negotiations with MGM MIRAGE. Based on its proportions and size, the MGM-owned land across the strip from the Luxor, is  most likely the planned location.  See THE Map

Silverton (Near South-Strip)

It's a continuation of their recent $150-million upgrade and expansion that included: renovating the casino and hotel, opening a major sporting goods chain,  adding new restaurants, and building a huge saltwater aquarium with a "mermaid" show.

All this and a previously announced expansion including a hotel expansion tower with 300 rooms.  30,000-square feet of meeting space and a parking garage will also be added to the existing resort.

The project will be one of the first major hotel-casino travelers from California will see when entering the Las Vegas Valley along Interstate 15.
